Would looking at videos of real violence desensitize someone?

Violence: Prolonged exposure to violence does desensitize us and therefore needs self monitoring. This is one reason we need to monitor how much television our children are viewing. Exposure to real violence has bee shown to have negative effects.

It can: People should not do anything to the exclusion of other activities. If you watch violent videos, you should be over 18 and limit the amount of time you participate in this activity. Those with trauma histories may be harmed more by violent videos than those without trauma histories. If violent videos upset you or give you nightmares, or other symptoms, see a psychiatrist or psychologist.
