Compression: Yes, so long as this is directed from your clinician. We need to know that your arteries are okay and then we can determine the correct level of compression. The levels of compression are measured in millimeters of mercury pressure. There are many manufacturers of stockings. You need to go to a place that has samples for you to work with.

Think SIzing and Fit: This question comes up frequently with patients who state they have worn or been prescribed support hose in the past, but have since stopped. The sizing and fitting of support hose is very important and is the most significant factor with regard to comfort and compliance. If you have never worn support hose, consider a lower compression to start with and then move up to your recom'd compression.
