Liquified food: The hospital or doctor that has performed this surgery should certainly have provided and reviewed with him dietary instructions. Usually they give you a supply of enriched "shakes"- kind of like "enamel" for adults. Alternatively, you could blend a whole host of healthy foods in a food processor and drink them with a straw. Not terribly appetizing but nutritious!

In addition, he can place some "regular" food in a blender and blend it until it is a consistency where he can drink it.
