Is zanaflex (tizanidine) the same thing as a strong valium?

Work differently: Both Zanaflex (tizanidine) and valium can cause muscle relaxation. They work by different mechanisms. They are not equivalent. Valium has a higher tendency to cause dependence then zanaflex (tizanidine).
