Spotting: At age 43, the ovary needs more stimulation to produce an egg, which comes from the pituitary, providing higher levels of estrogen which in turn causes growth or thickening of the lining of the womb. This tissue can break down and cause spotting or even bleeding which may seem like a period. Usually, regular cycles with again continue, but this is part of pre-menopausal changes.
