A member asked:

How risky is a heart lung transplant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Heart lung transplan: Better way to think about this: what is the risk to a person ill enough to need transplant without the transplant? The answer is usually 100% chance of death with doing nothing. There is always some risk of the operation but clearly less than 100% and lower surgical risk in centers that perform this operation more frequently.
