A member asked:

Why do patients that ahve liver diseases commonly develop blood clotting disorders?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clotting factors: Most of the clotting factors are made or processed in the liver, and work together with proteins in the blood and with platelets. Therefore, if you have liver disease, these factors are not produced in sufficient quantity or quality to work correctly. Vitamin k is metabolized in the liver and is used in clotting.
