Genetic+ environment: There is genetic preparedness, anxiety disorders run in families, genes work with the persons experience and environment on shaping the way the person perceives threat. This distorted perception of threat and danger lead to the anxiety reaction. Mild anxiety disorders can be addressed with therapy alone, but moderate , severe and comorbidity require medication and therapy. Very treatable.
