Comprehensively. : As the prevalence of drug-resistant bacteria increases, we must do what we can to protect our patients from cross-contamination. All care areas must be swabbed to identify pathogenic bacteria. All hygiene & cleaning procedures must be reviewed. All sterilization equipment must be audited. Antibiotics must be chosen judiciously based on local resistance patterns. Ongoing surveillance is essential.
