Threatened abortion.: Bleeding in the first trimester is called threatened abortion. It is not that uncommon and typically has to do with subchorionic hematomas that develop as your placenta invades the uterine vessels - to grow. Bed rest and pelvic rest (i.e. No intercourse) are advisable, as well as avoidance of all nsaids including Aspirin (tylenol (acetaminophen) ok). Take Folic Acid >1 mg daily and keep your faith - good luck!
