Little known: Ca law is that even if you have an hmo you can see your obgyn for any gyn problems, including preventive care, breasts and urinary problems. Some mds/nps focus on women's health and hence consider themselves women's health specialists. The gyns are the ones who have completed the residencies.

Care for women: Female bodies, illness' that affect them; treatments that can be effective for these conditions and the way they react differs from that of men. Yes, ob- gyn are specially trained in the care of women's gynecologic health. However, a women may benefit from being under the care of someone focused ( most ofter by a combination of training and experience) on a variety of other medical issues.
