What are treatments for sexual arousal disorder in depressed women?

Treat depression: A drop in libido can be a symptom of depression and unfortunately many of the antidepressants exacerbate this effect. Talk to your doctor if you are taking any antidepressant to discuss this as a possible side effect. If not, focus on treating the depression. Psychotherapy is effective in treating depression and this might help the sex drive come back naturally. Therapy can also address libido.

Marriage Counseling: Sexual arousal disorders are the most difficult to treat. When you add depression it becomes even harder as most of the anti-depressants have sexual side effects. Of course there may be many causative factors, but generally, there are issues within your relationship that must be dealt with- see a sex therapist, but expect that your doctor will ask a lot of questions about your marriage.
