Depends on timing : Postoperative pain is managed with a combination of narcotics, nsaid, ice therapy, stretching, swelling control with elevation and compression stockings. As weeks and months go by, narcotics stop, tylenol (acetaminophen) and NSAID medicines, exercise and ice predominate.
