A member asked:

How can my aide take care of my lower limb prosthesis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Daily cleaning: A prosthesis requires regular maintenance and care. Daily cleaning of the interior of the socket with a soft cloth and mild soap (not detergent). Allow to dry thoroughly overnight. Limb socks should be changed daily and washed as well. Residual soap should be avoided as this can irritate the skin. Maintenance checks with the prosthetist are equally important.
