Not specifically: "shock" therapy is not used to treat gender identity disorder. However, it can be useful in treatment-resistant depression and some psychoses. For Gender Amnesia?: 1>gender identity disorder =diagnosis now discarded from american psychiatric assn's diagnostic "bible"! apa no longer deems ppl who identify as transgender/gender non-conforming as inherently mentally "disordered." (apa stopped labeling ppl who identify as gay/lesbian as mentally ill in 1973.) 2>"shock therapy" can result in memory loss. But change how u see urself as man? Woman? This has failed!
