What are seizures?

Bad brain activity: A seizure is an abnormal motor or sensory event that is caused by abnormal electrical discharges of the brain. Usually the brain can inhibit or suppress abnormal activity. However in certain disease states, genetic syndromes, scarring of the brain or acute infection or injury, the brain inhibition is lost and seizure activity will occur.
