Mammograms: To diagnose breast cancer mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy or done. Sometimes an MRI of the breasts are done depending on the situation. Basic blood work and good history will help determine if other scans need to be done to look for spread.

Depends: For screening typically a mammogram and a clinical breast exam performed by your medical provider are recommended. For any abnormalities that are detected a biopsy is performed usually with a needle that is passed through the skin into the breast to obtain a sample.
