Is dissociative amnesia a real problem?

It can be: We all tend to forget and disassociate from bad things. This may be good but may be bad. Minor errors and mistakes can be forgotten. But major issues must be confronted and dealt with in an appropriate manner. Amnesia is just a loss of memory. Dissociative is just separating events from reality. Often no harm and safe, but can become pathological if too often and inappropriate.

Absolutely: It is the most complex of all of the psychiatric disorders to treat from a medication and psychotherapy perspective. Research articles have documented this problem from the us to europe, scandinavia, russia, and i went to both russia and china to talk to their psychiatrists who see it as well. A great deal of research has come out of the netherlands, and more info is now coming out of germany.
