Usually two days: A surgical biopsy resutls are usually available in two days. It takes longer in difficult cases that my require additional stains or consultation. If there is a malignant tumor the pathologist usually calls the doctor sending the tissue.

Depends : Most pathologists can return results in 48-96 hours for most breast lesions.

A fine needle biopsy can be read immediately. A core or surgical biopsy takes longer and depends on the hospital, but is usually 2-5 days.

Variable: Usually pathologists will provide a report in a couple of days, or sooner, from the time of biopsy. In some cases requiring special tests, it may take up to 2-3 weeks.

Many centers are: Accelerating biopsy to 'read out' times. Many recognize the problem with "presenteeism" being at the desk or counter, but unable to focus while worryig about the "report". You need to ask "how long wil the report take" and then ask why does it take so long, and ask for the time off of the lag time from biopsy to path report. Some can do it in 24-48hrs. There is no recovery time.

2-3 days: I hope you had a core needle biopsy, which is the standard-small incision. These results should be available in 2-3 days. A surgical biopsy should rarely be performed as the first step. These can take 3-5 days to get back results.
