Could be: You are describing symptoms of eustachian tube dysfunction in which the inner ear can become swollen. As the lining of the inner ear can become swollen from allergies, it is possible. However, other conditions - even things such as infections or barometric pressure - can do the same thing. You might want to add a low dose decongestant to see if your symptoms improve.
