Hard to say : It is very hard to answer why you might be having those symptoms without doing a complete history and physical exam. The gold standard for evaluation of syringomyelia involves getting an MRI scan of your brain and spinal cord. An evaluation by a neurologist or neurosurgeon may be needed.

Unlikely: Unlikely, especially if U normal between bouts of symptoms. Syringomyelia generally does not cause severe pain in legs. More likely to cause numb in torso, sometimes assoc w/ scoliosis. When in cervical cord, the usual complaint is numbness & atrophy of hands. If concerned, see your doc & discuss getting an MRI of the spine.
