Hydrocephalus: Foot numbness and muscle spasms are not typical of hydrocephalus. The classic symptoms are wet, wobbly and weird. The three Ws are: 1) urinary incontinence; 2) shuffling gait and a feeling that the feet are stuck to the floor; and 3) short-term memory loss. Numbness and muscle spasms may be caused by narrowing of the spinal canal and compression of the spinal cord or polyneuropathy.
