Eating Disorders: In general, eating disorders need thorough evaluation by a mental health counselor to determine the type, extent, and comorbidity issues, which will guide toward appropriate interventions. Therapy involves cognitive therapy, group therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, evaluation for possible medications for comorbid conditions, dietary consult, & referral to an eating program depending on severit.

Be with her: I agree with dr. Ali's description of the treatment process for bulimia, which can be long and involved. Your role is to encourage her to seek and stick with treatment. Talk with her when she wants to talk about things. Be present. You can educate yourself about bulimia so you're informed about what she's going through.
