No: Of the 3 aromatase inhibitors (anastrazole-arimidex, letrozole-femara, exemestane-aromasin), Aromasin is chemically based on a steroidal type backbone. The drug or its formulation does not contain additional steroids. It was hoped that this steroidal nature would avoid some of the negative bone side effects of other ais but this has not been evident in clinical trials.
