How long does it take for pills to relieve painful urination to work?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

From UTI?: If you are having trouble from a urinary tract infection, antibiotic may reduce your symptoms in less than 24 hours. Other meds such as Pyridium (phenazopyridine) can reduce symptoms in matter of hours. If you have chronic interstitial cystitis, which is rather difficult to treat, which may require multiple meds and/or care from a specialist such as urologist/urogynecologist. Consult doc. Good luck.
