There is a chance!: Studies have shown an association between cholesterol disorders and the onset of atherosclerosis in children, adolescents, and young adults. And, just like adults, eating foods high in saturated fat, not getting enough exercise, and having a family history of heart disease can all lead to high cholesterol levels in children. An increase in childhood obesity is also leading to high cholesterol.
