A member asked:

Could a chest infection cause shortness of breath?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: When the lungs are inflammed there are associated signs/symptoms of shortness of breath, cough, wheezing. It can also be due to your heart if there is decreased blood flow, irregular rhythms, valve problems. Please speak with your physician for a better diagnosis; they need to see and listen to you. They may send you for further testing if appropriate.
