Conservative care...: For starters, all of my colleagues are correct. You can try wider shoes, more rigid-type shoes, injections and physical therapy. If all fails, i usually will perform a decompression versus a excision of the neuroma. It's always easier to decrease the inflammation of the nerve than to remove the nerve root itself.
