Could be: Irritability is a symptom common to many conditions, including mood disorders, sleep disorders, use/withdrawal from substances, and others. Medical causes also need to be ruled out. Borderline personality disorder is a pervasive maladaptive behavior pattern involving instability in relationships, emotional regulation, self-perception, and mood often with extremes in behavior & thoughts of suicide.

Borderline: Primary features are marked impulsivity, unstable self-image, affective distress & unstable interpersonal relationships. Their irritability lasts few hours to few days, & they have difficulty controlling their anger.

Borderline: Irritability and severe temper ourbursts can very much be part if BPD as well as intense fear of abandonment, being manipulative, impulsivity, a tendency to think of people and things in all good or all bad terms, self mutilating behaviors, drug and alcohol abuse, sexual impulsivity, a profoundly disturb sense of self, and extreme emotional volatility.
