Depends on X-Ray: Most x-rays can be safely performed during pregnacy by shielding (putting a lead apron) over the abdomen block any x-ray scatter. These include dental, chest and bone x-rays. X-rays of the abdomen can be performed if the health f the mother may be compromised if they are not performed for diagnosis. The technique is modified to reduce x-ray exposure. A ct scan for appendicitis for example.
