Bland diet: First let your bowels rest for a bit. Start with ice chips, then sips of water. If you have soda make sure it is flat (not fizzy). When you advance to food, start out with bland foods like toast, saltine crackers, bananas, broth. Avoid fatty foods, or spicy foods, or acidic foods. If you do have jello, don't pick any flavor that is red. If you vomit you'll panic when you see the red.
