DDx: Swollen lymph nodes (ln) can come from a variety of causes. In medicine we call this a differential diagnosis (ddx). A large ddx is here: http://www.Mayoclinicproceedings.Org/article/s0025-6196(11)64620-x/fulltext - there is a need to evaluate: patient age, ln location, duration of symptoms (sx), other local (eg sore throat) & systemic sx (eg enlarged spleen).
