Subitramine: Meridia (subitramine) was removed from the us market in october 2010 because of an increased risk of heart problems. It is very unlikely that Meridia will be brought back to the us market. There are no other drugs that work the same way that merida does, but other drugs that are sometimes used for weight loss are xenical (reduces fat absorption), and stimulants that suppress appetite.
