Sore throat: Getting rid of a sore throat is diagnosing what it's caused by. Most viral infections causing it will go away within a week. Gargling with warm salt water every 4 hours may help as well as taking a pain killer. If it is caused by strep and antibiotic is started, you will feel better in 24-48 hours.
