Yes but.......: Taking both drugs can cause muscle and liver problems. Lopid (gemfibrozil) is an older drug. Better drugs available today that are safer. If you stay on both regular checks with labs to eval liver and muscle enzymes.

Drug interaction: There is potential for a major drug interaction when lopid (gemfibrozil) & Pravastin (Pravachol (pravastatin) or Selektine) are used together. It can increase risk for liver damage & for rhabdomyolysis. If these meds are used together it may require increased lab monitoring or change in med dosages.
