Is taking expired prenatal vitamins safe?

Wrong question: A better question is, "is taking expired prenatal vitamins effective?" the answer is, maybe. The expiration date is the date beyond which the manufacturer will not guarantee potency. In other words, if you take old vitamins they might not do what they are intended to do. It's unlikely they'll hurt you.

No: It is never safe to take expired medication. In addition to any adverse effects, the ingredients probably are providing no benefit any longer.
