Maybe: "-uria" = in urine. Protein in the urine usually reflects a kidney problem. Blood (hematuria) may be a problem in the kidney, ureter (connection duct to), bladder, prostate gland (in men), and/or urethra. Both should be evaluated further to identify the problem which may include further blood, urine tests, scans, and cystoscopy (scoping the bladder and system).

Glomerular disease: Blood in the urine can come from the kidney blood vessels (glomeruli) or from any anatomic structure along the pathway from urine formation to its exit from the body. Protein in the urine comes from the nephron, either from the glomerulus spilling protein into the urine, or from protein secretion in the tubules. The presence of blood and protein in the urine indicates a glomerular source.

Blood and protein: Hematuria (h) and proteinuria (p) are symptoms, not diagnoses. H can occur with and without p. It is usually best to see a urologist for h and a nephrologist for p to determine what is causing each condition. Good luck.
