Skin resurfacing: Why the deepest. Make sure it does not go too deep to cause scarring or skin color change. We use erbium laser for resurfacing with good results.

CO2/Erbium ablative: Combination co2/erbium/yag ablative laser resurfacing after adequate skin preparation with Retin-A and hydroquinone therapy will require a general anesthetic and a week to 10 days of scrupulous wound care and unsuitability for social contact or work (except from home). Fractional lasers are not better, and require more treatments for (less) results. Few surgeons have this laser. Dr. Tholen.
