A member asked:

What effect does alcohol have on ada, antidiuretic hormone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inhibits it: Alcohol is an inhibitor of adh, (vasopressin) or antidiuretic hormone. ADH (vasopressin) causes one not to urinate, so blocking it causes increased urination. This is the reason why drinking alcohol can actually lead to dehydration.
