Lice eggs or nits: Yes but you may not like it - cut the hair or remove it with your nails.

Difficult at best: You can soften the glue that holds the nit to the hair by rinsing the hair with a stout vinegar.Apple cider vinegar or pickling vinegar both seem to help. This can help loosen the nit and make it easier to remove. The problem is the number and location. They are laid at the scalp, but elevate as the hair grows ~1/2 inch/mo. If you miss one, it can hatch and establish a new infestation.
