Variety: Dka is a medical emergency caused by Insulin deficiency, high blood sugar, and ketoacidosis. Severe dehydration, rapid/deep breathing, electrolyte imbalance, abdominal pain, mental status changes, and death if not treated. Treatment involves IV insulin, fluids and electrolytes, eventually glucose is added.
