Human reservoir : Humans and monkeys are the reservoir --or holding cell for the chikungunya virus. The mosquito bites an infected person and thus infects the next person down the line (if i understand what you are asking) non human primates also carry the virus. Mosquitoes are just the hapless postal carriers so to speak in this illness. Incubation is usually 2-3 days but can vary from 1-12 days.
