Get acquainted: You and the physician or midwife will go over your pregnancy history and medical history, discuss issues about the upcoming pregnancy, draw labs, and do a physical exam including a pelvic exam. There may be an ultrasound as well.

Exam, labs: Most first new OB visits include talking about your medical history, precautions in pregnancy, how frequent your visits will be scheduled, an exam, and blood work. Sometimes this visit also includes a pelvic ultrasound.
