Can be: Whether or not a skin cancer is curable depends on the type of skin cancer and the stage of the tumor. Things like basal cell carcinoma are very curable are very rarely spread. Lower stage tumors are more likely to be successfully treated.

Usually: In general, yes. There are many different types of skin cancer, and they all behave differently. As mentioned above, if caught early, all cancers are very curable. The speed with which they spread is very different from tumor to tumor. If you have any skin lesions which are changing, bleeding, or are otherwise concerning to you, have it evaluated by your doctor as soon as possible.
