Neither: I assume your C3 levels are slightly below the normal range and in that case if you have no signs of organ dysfunction there is nothing to worry about. If they are severely depressed i would worry about developing a form of nephritis mediated by complement deposition which is very rare and can be diagnosed by a simple urine analysis. Any symptoms?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if do not have any symptoms follow-up with your doctor and comply with the advice for monitoring.
