A member asked:

If youve been on the pill for a couple of years & just got off of it 2 weeks ago should they be concerned about pregnancy.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The contraceptive effect (prevention of pregnancy) of pills typically does not last very long after your last pill. Sometimes women do not start ovulating right away after stopping the pill, and therefore cannot get pregnant early on, but many will start ovulating right away. If you are not on birth control and are not using other methods like condoms, you could get pregnant with unprotected sex.
