Your call: Chronic Hep B is a long term issue. There are antiviral medications that can help end it but for some, they just limit the damage until your own immune system shuts it down. Alcohol is a toxic agent that is processed through the liver using a common path it uses to remove other toxins. At low levels a normal liver can do this without damage, with Hep B any alcohol intake causes damage.
