Under 7 is fine.: A recent study should that outcomes in patients with A1c of 6 were no better than 7. However patients who averaged 6.0 had increased episodes of low blood sugar.

6.5 OR LOWER : For treating diabetes mellitus our goal as recommended by ada is to bring A1c down to 6.5 or lower your level 6.5 is perfectly ok and desirable well done.

6.5% or safe value: Studies looking at cardiovascular dz & mortality have shown that aiming for an A1c of 6 did not do better than aiming for 7. However, these studies focused on CV dz & death. They did not look well at other comps like retinopathy, nephropathy, foot ulcers or quality of life! comps can be seen in some people with A1c's as low as 6. 6.5% or as close to nl without low sugars is a great goal! Good job!
