A member asked:

Is it true that nonsustained supra ventricular tachycardia is the same as nonsustained ventricular tachycardia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Supraventricular tachycardia signifies that the abnormal rhythm arises from a part of the heart above the atrioventricular node (that normally conducts atrial electrical impulses to the ventricles for ventricular excitation), whereas a ventricular tachycardia originates from the ventricular myocardium itself (below the level of the atrioventricular node).
