Yes: Loss of teeth, especially in the front of the mouth, can cause speech problems because it allows for change in lip and tongue positions which are key to proper speech.

Oh yes..: Teeth are not only for eating and smiling. They give facial support, keep jaw position and....They do affect the way we speak and even play a musical instrument. Most people adapt over the years to speak with the teeth they have, but should you get new crowns in front you might have to learn to speak and eat again just because the difference in alignment.

Most of the time: Teeth help support the lips and cheeks, and allow the tongue a place to rest when forming certain sounds... Many people have very few teeth and enunciate just fine. Others are incoherent.
